Amazon is seeking a Principal, L&D for our growing Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team to play a critical role in managing our fast growth and technology innovations.
The Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team maintains and optimizes technologies ranging from large, modern, purpose-built warehouses utilizing robotics and high volume conveyance all the way through the value chain to small, high speed warehouses placed as close to our customers as possible.
In this role, you are responsible for the creation and execution of scalable strategic learning/educational initiatives that support our field and central team customers.
This role will support scalable learning innovations, global program design, execution of development programs, and scoping and architecting of blended learning journeys.
We expect the Principal, L&D be passionate about building future skills and capabilities that help our people be successful on the job and grow in their careers.
This individual must be a learning advocate, clear and concise communicator, operate with ambiguity in a evolving and fast-paced environment.
A proven record of executing large-scale learning transformations will be critical as well as familiarity with methods used in effective learning experience design including digital learning, live virtual, workshops, augmented reality, and blended.
Experiencein Operations is a plus as is work experience in multinational and virtual environment.
This role requires travel.
Key job responsibilities Contribute to the evolving strategy for learning and development Lead any number of global special learning projects critical to the future buildout of RME Maintain close links to the customer population and senior leaders by conducting detailed training needs assessments and architecting learning journeys that address specific business problems and capability gaps Provide feedback and input into our evolving learning products and programs Effectively collaborate with and influence stakeholders across the organization to ensure learning programs are measurable and evidence-based Identify and partner with vendors to deliver learning solutions according to business needs Support and partner with Instructional Designers on the design and development of the content based on findings during baseline, testing, piloting and roll out Manage collection of, interpret and analyze business data to report conclusions and make recommendations based on findings Basic Qualifications University Degree, B.S.
or Masters in Adult Learning or Engineering A strong focus on internal customers needs with an emphasis in demonstrating return on investment in training.
Experience with instructional design and adult learning theory Experienced people manager capable of leading and developing a team Engineering or technical training experience in a large multi-national environment Experience with Instructional Design for multi-lingual technical audiences Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities, often with conflicting deadlines Demonstrated ability to influence others and execute in a customer-centric manner Excellent written and verbal communications Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information, verbally and in writing, concisely and in a manner which drives people to take action Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex and ambiguous situations Experience with Cornerstone Learning Management System (KNET) Experience with Data Visualization systems (POWER BI or Quicksight)
