Job Title: Data ScientistLocation: RietiPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Scientist will join the local Manufacturing Science (MS) department at Takeda Rieti, reporting directly to the Investigation & Data Science Lead.
This role is crucial in managing and advancing local digital data science projects based on prioritization, including initiatives such as Yield Improvement, real-time monitoring, and predictive process performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding and unlocking new insights for effective process monitoring and enhancement optimizations, utilizing descriptive statistics, visualization techniques, and innovative tools.
They will also promote the development and adoption of automated pipelines for real-time data retrieval and analysis.
Collaboration is key; the Data Scientist will gather and identify local data science opportunities in partnership with local teams, DD&T, Engineering, Quality, and the global GMS data science community.
This role serves as a vital link between local and global data science teams.
Additionally, the Data Scientist will manage and execute reporting activities, particularly those related to the deployment of Power BI dashboards for Yield and Process monitoring.
Participation in the global, functional, and local GMS data science community is expected, along with driving necessary local training initiatives.
Key responsibilities also include translating business challenges into data-driven opportunities and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.
Continuous improvement of digital data repositories is essential.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and statistical knowledge, with proven experience in handling large datasets and developing/implementing Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms using major frameworks.
Essential coding skills in Python and R are required, along with proficiency in SQL and a solid understanding of data models and databases.
Experience with time series data analysis is preferred, and familiarity with cloud computing is beneficial.
Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI and Qlik is also essential.
Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving skills are crucial, as is the ability to translate business needs into data analytics concepts.

EDUCATION: A Master's degree or MBA and/or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific disciplines is required.
