We are looking for an experienced PPA Manager to join our team in London or Milan.
Job Summary The purpose of this position is to actively seek off-taker opportunities for the company to conclude bankable PPAs within Europe.
The successful candidate will have full responsibility for originating, negotiating, and closing PPAs with International Traders, Utilities, Communities, Corporates, etc., across Europe with particular emphasis on commercial and risk aspects and on the bankability of the PPA and of the off-taker(s).
In this role, you will analyze key market trends and the competitive landscape and outline key risks and opportunities.
Research, preparation, and consolidation of market data for merchant and PPA prices for power plants and storage solutions are a key emphasis of the position.
The PPA Origination manager undertakes this responsibility proactively and independently; however, they will work in close cooperation with management, country directors, project financing, as well as with other key functions and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities Project Lead and close collaboration with Country Directors in Europe to ensure alignment with regards to project pipelines and specifics and needs of any potential projects.
Further project management and close collaboration with broader team members, such as Financing, EPC, and Project Managers.
Preparation, review, and presentation of customer-specific market analysis, reports, and renewable energy procurement stages.
Detailed understanding of any formulae and calculation models related to PPAs.
Research, preparation, and consolidation of market data for merchant and PPA prices for power plants and storage solutions.
Proactive development of price and foreign exchange hedging solutions.
Proactive management, review, and update of all energy contracts with regards to contract compliance by determination and setting of milestone dates, the progress of project development, and construction.
Proactive and close follow-up and follow-through with milestone dates, being on top of all relevant dates and obligations.
Timely and accurate escalation of potential identified risks which might threaten the agreed-upon milestones and demonstration of problem solution approaches.
Requirements 4-9 years of experience in energy trading, renewable energy markets, or PPA origination in the UK and/or EU markets.
Strong understanding of electricity and renewable power markets.
Proven record of network and achievements in funding for renewable energy.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with a track record of closing PPA deals.
Financial modelling experience - good to have.
Project Management experience.
Experience in the management of complex offers and successful negotiation for attractive contracts.
Degree in engineering or economics and/or a master's in energy-related business.
