These positions are part of a prestigious project funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI).Position DetailsTitle: Postdoctoral ResearcherDuration: 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension to 2 yearsLocation: University of Pisa, Barillaro GroupProject OverviewReconfigurable meta surfaces are at the forefront of advanced material innovation for space applications.
These surfaces can dynamically modify their electromagnetic properties, unlocking new possibilities in satellite communications, remote sensing, and beyond.
The successful candidates will play a key role in designing, fabricating, and testing these meta surfaces, aiming to integrate them into systems that enhance the performance and functionality of space missions.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate within an interdisciplinary team of experts in electronics, telecommunications, physics, and materials science.Design and fabricate reconfigurable meta surfaces using state-of-the-art micro- and nanofabrication techniques.Perform experimental validation and evaluate the performance of these meta surfaces under space-relevant conditions.Publish research findings in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences.Candidate RequirementsPhD or a minimum of 3 years of research experience in areas such as optics and photonics, lithography (hard and soft), nano- and microstructure fabrication, or material deposition via physical vapor techniques.Strong background in micro- and nanotechnologies, with a specific focus on photonics.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills.Application ProcessQualified and motivated candidates are encouraged to express their interest by emailing Professor Giuseppe Barillaro at ******.
