YOUR TEAM The successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary team based in Erzelli, Genoa, Italy, and conduct research within the Unit for Visually Impaired People (U-VIP) research line (Principal Investigator: Monica Gori).
The research will happen in a fully equipped laboratory, supplied with many multisensory technologies, motion capture, and eye-tracking devices, in a group with a variety of competencies ranging from engineering, neurophysiology, statistical experts, cognitive neuroscientists, and experts of rehabilitation.
The current position is funded by European Union – Nex Generation EU within the RAISE "Robotics and AI for Socio-economic Empowerment" project and more specifically is in the contest of Spoke 1 'Urban Technologies for Inclusive Engagement'.
In particular, this postdoctoral position focuses on the investigation and implementation of tools for the identification of interindividual differences in multisensory investigations and tools development Mathematical models combined with motor analysis and artificial intelligence models will be used to develop and validate new technological solutions that are able to predict and adapt to user needs.
Behavioral studies will be combined with motor tracking and biometric human parameters analysis, and to determine user skills and applied with machine learning approaches to the development and validation of new interactive solutions.
The selected candidate will work on the quantification of interindividual differences, participating in the development of urban tools and applications for people with and without impairment (children and adults).
The research for this Postdoctoral position will involve: - Human models, programming, human signal, and motor processing.
- Computational models in the development of perceptual and motor abilities.
- Machine learning methods that promote interaction - Design of experiments, testing, data analysis and dissemination in human-tools interaction settings.
- Collaborate at the development of tools - Development of software applications The goal of the research is to quantify the user difference to develop and validate urban technology of inclusive engagement.
