**THE ROLE**
The Vectorial nano-imaging Research Unit is coordinated by Dr. Antonio Ambrosio, a leading expert in nanophotonics, optical materials, and light-matter interaction.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Designing and fabricating novel metasurfaces using state-of-the-art nanofabrication techniques.
- Conducting experimental and computational studies to explore light-matter interaction in designed nanostructures.
- Developing innovative methodologies to enhance the performance of metasurface-based optical systems.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- A PhD in Physics, Optics, Material Science, or similar disciplines.
- Documented experience in metasurface design, nanofabrication, or optical characterization techniques.
- A strong publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven ability to report, organize, and publish research data.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching junior scientists.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS**
- Hands-on experience with tools like FDTD simulations, COMSOL Multiphysics, or similar optical modeling software.
- Knowledge of advanced nanofabrication and characterization techniques such as e-beam lithography, AFM, SNOM or SEM.
- Excellent problem-solving attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a challenging and international environment.
- High motivation to learn and innovate in a rapidly evolving field.
