THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group composed of material scientists, physicists, neuroscientists, electronic engineers, computational scientists, biotechnologists, and biomedical engineers. The main aim will be correlating multifunctional signals in 3D printed neurochips for next generation studies on neural degeneration via spectroscopy and electrophysiological recordings. Your main responsibility will be: Develop a Raman spectroscopy system that can be used in environments with limited space, including surgery rooms for research purposes. Use the developed system to collect Raman spectroscopy datasets from murine models using implantable fiber optics. Develop algorithms to distinguish between different brain regions based only on Raman spectra. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A PhD in Photonics, Physics, Nanotechnologies or related disciplines. Previous experience in the development of optical systems. Previous experience on Raman spectroscopy. Previous experience on Raman spectroscopy for tissue. Coding skills in Python, Matlab, and C++.
