YOUR TEAMThe COg ITOR lab is led by Prof. Alessandro Chiolerio, within the Bioinspired Soft Robotics research unit, under the responsibility of Dr. Barbara Mazzolai. You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group and collaborate to carry out common research with outstanding facilities.
The position is based on a research project funded by the European Innovation Council And SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) under grant agreement No. 964388 COg ITOR (A new COlloidal cybernet Ic sys Tem t Owa Rds 2030, https://cogitor-project.eu/) coordinated by IIT, in the person of A. Chiolerio.
The activity foresees the development and evaluation of a prototype of a colloidal cybernetic system, a multifunctional platform composed of liquid state material able to self-heal, sensing, computation and memorization, energy recovery and conversion, integrating an ad hoc electronics.
The research aims to develop, characterize and optimize a liquid state pressure sensor, as well as to integrate the energy, sensing and computing subsystems into the final unit, the COg ITOR prototype. The prototype will be then characterized to assess the cross-talk between subsystems and the response in extreme environment.
