Position Overview We are looking for a detail oriented, proactive, and communicative individual who will be using the GibbsCAM software and our in-house tools to create and modify post processors, working with our customers and end users, to generate accurate g-code that will run on a variety of machines and CNC controls.
Applicants should consider themselves an initiative-taking CAD/CAM Post Processor Developer, who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, and excited to see the successful implementation of the post processors they deliver.
They will take the initiative to understand machine tool kinematics for CNC mills, routers, and advance turning centers; combining this knowledge with CNC control syntax to implement software solutions for our clients.
Primary Job Responsibilities: Work closely with our Italian manufacturing clients to develop post processors for GibbsCAM, facilitating the programming of computer-controlled machine tools.
Read and understand NC programming manuals and translate that knowledge into working post processors.
Research and evaluate solutions to advanced manufacturing capabilities for our end-users.
Share your knowledge with others, by participating in team building or writing online documentation.
Create sample GibbsCAM parts for our users or for testing purposes, which will increase the accuracy of your work and other post developers on the team.
Provide customer support, and report bugs and improvement requests to the software development team.
Cultivate positive working relationships with all the stakeholders (customers and colleagues).
Provide on-site support for our partners, on a as needed basis.
Requirements: 10+ years of experience in CNC Manufacturing.
CAM programming (experience with milling, turning, MTM and Swiss type machines) Excellent analytical, problem solving and solutioning skills - particularly complex technical and math problems.
Experience with our software solutions preferred (GibbsCAM).
Experience with various computer programming languages.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to listen and understand our partners' needs and issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective at building and fostering relationships with customers.
Nice to Haves: 3D Modeling preferred.
Experience with manufacturing-oriented CAD/CAM software, particularly GibbsCAM.
