Post-Doctoral position on the fabrication of near-infrared light-emitting diodes based on III-V quantum dots. Commitment & contract: collaboration contract Location: Genoa Step into a world of endless possibilities, together let's leave something for the future! At IIT, we are committed to advancing human-centered Science and Technology to address the most urgent societal challenges of our era. We foster excellence in both fundamental and applied research, spanning fields such as neuroscience and cognition, humanoid technologies and robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and material sciences, offering a truly interdisciplinary scientific experience.
We are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering diversity in all its forms, creating an inclusive environment. We value the unique experiences, knowledge, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives of our people. By embracing diversity, we believe science can achieve its fullest potential.
THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Photonic Nanomaterials Research Unit is looking for one Post-doctoral scientist to develop and study novel light-emitting diodes presenting circularly polarized electroluminescence in the near infrared (800 – 1550 nm), based on Indium arsenide (InAs) colloidal quantum dots. The successful candidate will work in the Photonic Nanomaterials research unit within the Nanomaterials research domain, in the framework of the European Innovation Council Pathfinder Challenges project "RADIANT" (Chiral Light Emitting Diodes based in Photonic Architectures, grant Agreement n. 101162112). The aim of the project is to fabricate electroluminescent devices promoting circularly polarized emission.
The selected candidate will focus on the preparation of light-emitting diodes based on InAs quantum dots presenting a core-shell architecture (e.g. InAs/ZnSe or similars). The devices will exploit innovative nanostructures able to sustain circularly polarized emission in the near infrared. The characterization activities will be supported by various research facilities available at IIT. Importantly, the candidate is expected to engage in collaborations with other group members working in project "RADIANT".
