THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where a heterogeneous group of profiles, such as physicist, chemists, and material engineers, collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The DELTA Research Unit is led by Remo Proietti Zaccaria, who has extensive expertise in both the theoretical and experimental aspects of micro-nano photonics and electronics, with one focus on developing innovative energy-related devices. In particular, within this area of research, at the DELTA Lab we aim at designing, fabricating and characterizing devices for energy storage, harvesting, and transfer, with applications in both terrestrial and Space environments.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Design proton-based batteries and define their potential role for Space applications
- Coordinate Ph D students in the field of secondary batteries
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A Ph D in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or similar discipline
- Documented experience in the field of secondary batteries, with particular emphasis on Space applications
- A strong publication record
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
- Good command in spoken and written English
