YOUR TEAM The Nanochemistry Research Unit (https://www.iit.it/research/lines/nanochemistry) is seeking highly motivated and talented candidates in the field of nanochemistry, targeting nanocrystalline materials. The candidates will be involved in the study of nanocrystals made of domains of different materials (of which at least one is a metal halide) connected by epitaxial interfaces, for application in light-harvesting devices. The candidates will interact on a regular basis with synthetic and computational scientists in charge of predicting the stability and properties of such combinations of materials and interfaces, and with other scientists/engineers for advanced characterization and to exploit the synthesized nanocrystals in various applications. We are offering a two-year contract. The highly interdisciplinary research environment at IIT provides access to a state-of-the-art computational infrastructure and labs for materials synthesis, characterization and implementation in devices.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
Develop new methods for integrating nanocrystals into light-harvesting devices.Cooperate/give support with other postdocs/PhD students/undergrads.Report to the group on the progress of your research activities and mentoring students.This open position is financed by the European Union – European Research Council through the project "Nanoscale Epitaxial Heterostructures Involving Metal Halides – NEHA" Grant Agreement n° 101095974.
