Volta Trucks, a hypergrowth European Electric Truck Manufacturer, is looking for a Policy Manager to join our Policy Department.
This role is based in Italy and will be mainly remote working with some travel as required.
**What you will do**:
As Policy Manager you will develop and build trusted relationships between the company and national Governments, NGOs and institutions within Italy.
You will also be responsible for educating Italian policy makers on the benefits of full-electric commercial vehicles and paving the way for the introduction of our Volta Zero into target markets.
- Manage the development and deliverance of the company's policy and public affairs strategy within Italy on any issues affecting Volta Trucks.
- Ensure Volta Trucks' policy and public affairs activity is compliant with all Italian regulations.
- Build trusted relationships with supportive NGO's locally and nationally.
- Understand how Italian government EV subsidy programs will develop in the future for Volta Trucks to take advantage of.
**We would like you to have**:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in public policy, climate change, or another relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a management role in public policy, public affairs, or political work within Italy
- preferably within the sustainability or environmental space.
- Good working knowledge of Italian transport stakeholders, decarbonisation, electrification and climate change policy and processes.
- Experience of working in a small, non-hierarchal start-up / scale-up organisation.
