BOLOGNA – MACHINERY MANUFACTURINGPLANT MANAGERFor our client multinational company in the machinery manufacturing, we are looking for a PLANT MANAGER with experience in plant management of automatic machinesThe manager will be responsible for driving and overseeing the relevant operational processes assigned, achieving the mid-term assigned targets, managing the relevant capacity plan, the inventory level, the delivery performance, the service level, according with the budget assigned and in accordance with HSE as well as applicable standards, regulations, global manufacturing practices, corporate and local procedures, working alongside with the other functions involved.Reporting line:VP Engineering The position has the responsibility of over 150 people in the plantKey Accountabilities:Operations Strategy ExecutionParticipates in strategy definition for relevant area, translates it into actionable local plans, provides the leader above with inputs aimed at effective execute it in line with the go to market strategy.Drives effective running of processes, business continuity and compliance in line with quality, HSE, CSR, maintenance etc., standards, regulatory, procedures and program, enables continuous improvement mindset, processes harmonization, in coordination with involved functions.Oversees the promptly, effectively and efficiently corrective and preventive actions flow, coordinates the execution in compliance with applicable standards, regulatory and requirements.Identifies the need of local production expansion (Industrial Plan) and support new plant construction proposal in collaboration with the project team and in accordance with the leader above.Operations and Production ManagementLeads the operations and functions assigned such as production, maintenance and facility, cascades and sets local goals, in terms of costs, time, quality, manages assigned resources and systems, working with enabler functions, delivering results in line with requirements, standards, targets and applicable standards, regulatory and procedures.Defines, accordingly with the leader above and monitors the local production plans execution in term of time, volumes, mix, quality and costs, cascading, revising and approving local ones, working with productions leaders.Provides the assigned plant and involved functions with effective and actionable technical resolutions for reducing complaints increasing services, sales demand fulfilment, etc.Collaborates effectively with peers' functions such as Quality, supporting processes robustness and readiness during different phases providing feedback, evaluation on services received from suppliers and external providers, highlights and proposes areas of improvement.Monitoring and ReportingDefines benchmarks and KPI's to improve global manufacturing performances, monitors operational and economic performance, identifies critical issues addresses corrective /preventive actions able at solve them.Budget ManagementProposes to the leader above the budget proposal, including industrial equipment CAPEX, ensures fulfilment COGS Capex and execution, manage properly the budget assigned.
Guidelines and Procedures ManagementParticipates in SOP definition, contributes effectively to procedures and guidelines approving relevant sections, ensures cascades and implements them across functions and maintains high level of applicable standards as evidence by safety result.Project ManagementLeads the projects assigned, effectively supports the SG4D approach, during the different phases and monitors the execution across the relevant area according with the project plan and program.People ManagementPlans, organizes, manages, coaches and develops assigned staff, ensuring the effective talent management, career path development and training, drive commitment and engagement.Relationship ManagementDeals with external stakeholders with the aim of promoting the SG business areas expertise, collects the guidance, standards and trends and transmits them to relevant functions.
Interacts regularly and effectively communicates with key internal leaders and team as well as relevant stakeholders aimed at building level of awareness on business vision and strategy.Builds effective and sustainable partnerships leading the relationship with internal and external stakeholders and influencers fostering the SG competitive advantages.Candidate's ProfileExperience: minimum 15-year experience in plant management in packaging industry at large.
Previous turnaround experience and/or reorganization after MA operations will be an advantage.
Previous experience in automation, mechatronic industry in textile, beverage and similar in companies working on contract basis.Education: Engineer, Technical master's degree, or equivalent experience/exposureTechnical SkillsGoal setting management: techniques, methodologies, toolsKnowledge of Program and Project management: techniques, methodologies, toolsIndustry and sector understanding and knowledge of key consumers and segmentsKnowledge of Product and Production: process, features and techniques Knowledge of Continuous Improvement: techniques, methodologies, toolsData Analysis and performances operations metrics: methodologies, techniques, tools and applicationsSystem, tools and application for the relevant processes Knowledge of Budget management and cost control People Management Knowledge (Coaching, feedback, team management etc.)
