Plans Examiner

Wage: $57,105 - $85,657 annually (full range) Status: Full-time; Non-exempt Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Plans Examiner performs technical evaluation and review of complex building plans to ensure compliance with International Code Council, Town development ordinances, the Arizona Administrative Code, Arizona Revised Statutes, and other related development codes.
The Plans Examiner will work independently and is responsible for decision making requiring discretion and judgment ensuring compliance with City, State, and other applicable codes, plus established policies and procedures.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in architecture, civil engineering, or construction technology or a related field degree is preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in municipal plans review with emphasis in building or fire/life safety plan review, or construction contracting or construction management OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
A minimum of one ICC certification in either Residential or Commercial and Fire and Fire Plan Review or Residential or Commercial.
Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License.
