Role Description To collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities for the plant, focusing on design aspects related to piping stress analysis and define and verify supports of nuclear island, steam / condensate cycle, utilities and water treatment.
Main Activities Perform piping layout and routing, define supports and perform stress engineering in all project phases for balance of plant. Carry out feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and front-end design, detail engineering and design. Develop internal standards and specific design criteria for piping routing and layout, support definition and stress engineering. Optimize configuration for piping, supporting structures and routing for balance of power plant. Develop piping design for the plant nuclear island, conventional island, balance of the plant and auxiliaries. Cooperate on the plant layout, piping and equipment layout, piping classes, material selection. Coordinate the piping and support activities carried out by consociates and suppliers. Perform stress analysis of pipes and verify stress analyses done by consociates and suppliers. Carry out definition and verification of piping supports. Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, technical queries, and technical bids. Coordinate, plan and supervise the work of junior engineers. Collaborate to the identification of breakthrough solutions to the most complex piping challenges. Write and review design criteria and analysis assessment reports. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Participate in and foster a work environment based on openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Desired Qualifications Education: Degree in Mechanical, Energy or Civil Engineering. Master or PhD is a plus. Languages: English (Required): Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a mandatory requirement for this role. Clear and effective communication in English is essential for day-to-day responsibilities, team collaboration, and interactions with stakeholders across the organization. Italian and French (Desirable): While not mandatory, a basic to intermediate level of proficiency in Italian and French is desirable for this position. The ability to communicate in Italian and French can be advantageous, as it will facilitate effective liaison and collaboration with our French and Italian teams. Experience / Professional Requirements: 5 years' experience in piping design of industrial plants. Experience in power or nuclear plants' balance of plant is a plus. Use of CAD, 3D models and structural analysis codes. Conversant with the main O&G and Nuclear standards such as ASME B31.3 and RCC-M. Knowledge of engineering cycle for development of feasibility, basic design, FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up. Good knowledge of design and analysis principles for large or complex systems. Understanding of analytical techniques and relevant design codes.
