Reference: 202200040ProjectJob Location:Job type/Contract:Salary range: Competitive salary package with benefits.The Materials and Piping Classes Engineer estimates and manages the piping materials quantities and the mechanical and insulation works quantities, under the supervision of a Group Leader and in strict conjunction with the Layout Piping Project Leader.
The role involves activities relevant to the materials specifications, purchasing requirements, and material supply follow-up.Duties and Responsibilities:Sets the basis for the MTO execution, building up the bill of material breakdown structure during the Proposal estimate phase and/or Project Execution Phase.Manages and keeps updated the MTO developed by the Design Drafting team, uploading it into the Material Management System according to the applicable methodology.Prepares the Estimate Material Requisition Plan relevant to piping bulk and special items, analyzing the consistency and completeness of the MTO through dedicated procedures.Prepares the Material Requisitions relevant to piping bulk and special items, ensuring the completeness of the technical annexes.Prepares on a regular basis the Material Requisition current estimate reports, supporting the Project Leader in analyzing the status of the material quantity throughout the project phases and accordingly updating the forecast.Prepares the Mechanical (Piping and Equipment), Painting, and Insulation Work Requisitions and the relevant Quantity and Price List, during Proposal estimate phase and/or Project Execution Phase.Supports the Subcontracting Department in the technical review of the offers received from Subcontractors during the bidding phase.Prepares on a regular basis the Mechanical, Painting, and Insulation Works current estimate reports, supporting the Project Leader in analyzing the status of the works quantity throughout the project phases and accordingly updating the forecast.Executes through specific procedures the piping feasibility analysis to estimate the construction work front based on the availability of construction drawings and relevant piping material within a given time frame.Supports the Materials Work Quantities Estimating Management Group Leader in developing and/or improving standard practices and work instructions aimed at continuous improvement of efficiency and quality of work.Develops the piping material specifications ("piping classes") based on fluid lists and applicable process data sheets, in compliance with contractual requirements and international codes and standards.Prepares the piping bulk, valves, and special piping components supply specifications and purchasing requirements, enabling the procurement of the components required in the project.Executes the technical bid evaluation relevant to the above components, ensuring the supply technical requirements are clearly understood by enquired vendors.Superintends the Vendor document management relevant to piping and valves supply.Knowledge Qualifications:Master's Degree or University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a similar field.Experience:Relevant experience in construction/modernization of large Petrochemical plants/EPC projects.Minimum 10 years' experience in the specific discipline (Piping Material Management, Quantity Surveying, Warehouse Management).Piping and piping material background with knowledge of piping components, for application in petrochemical, power, and oil gas industry.Ability in the use of Intergraph SmartPlant Material Software, MS Excel, and Access.Skills and Abilities:Excellent IT and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills, team-oriented and interpersonal skills.Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
