Job Description
We are actively looking for a Piping Engineer who will join our team in supporting an important client operating in the waste recycling sector.
Location: Treviglio
Possibility for Smart work: 2 days per week.
You will be included in the mechanical team with a focus on the design and verification of operating machinery and the development of plant layout. The work will involve reading and verifying P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), the technical description of operational machinery in the relevant data sheets (centrifugal and volumetric pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, screws, conveyors, dosing machines, mixers), the designation of piping routes, and the management of technical alignments with suppliers.
You will primarily have a technical role and will be responsible for:
Defining the plant layout, organizing the optimal arrangement of mechanical equipment and piping. Designing piping routes in compliance with technical standards, operational specifications, and plant requirements. Reading and interpreting P&IDs to verify the correct installation and functionality of mechanical equipment. Preparing detailed data sheets for operating machinery, specifying technical and operational parameters. Comparing supplier offers and managing technical alignments to ensure compliance with technical specifications and company standards. Collaborating with colleagues and suppliers to gather and organize the technical information necessary for the selection of machinery and the definition of piping routes. Supervising suppliers' work and ensuring that relevant information is communicated to colleagues from other disciplines. Supporting the commissioning, testing, and start-up phases of installed machines. Qualifications Technical skills
Required:
Advanced knowledge of the operating principles of machinery (centrifugal and volumetric pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, etc.) Ability to read and analyze P&IDs to assess the correct arrangement and functionality of equipment. Experience in defining plant layout and designing piping routes. Expertise in preparing technical data sheets for operating machinery. Experience in managing technical alignments between suppliers and the engineering team. Basic knowledge of fluid dynamics principles for the design and optimization of piping systems.
Preferred:
Experience in mechanical design for complex plants.
Internal training: Training on the specificities of biogas plants and the technical standards used in projects, is provided.
Software skills
Required:
Good knowledge of the Office suite (particularly Excel for managing technical information) and CAD software (preferably AutoCAD).
Preferred:
Familiarity with simulation or 3D modelling software for mechanical design, layout, and piping design.
Internal training: Specific training on company tools will be provided.
Soft skills
Required:
Ability to learn and apply company standards regarding mechanical design and document management. Ability to work in a team and coordinate effectively with other disciplines (electrical, instrumentation, civil). Fluent Italian and English.
Preferred:
