DESCRIPTIONAUDITION DATE Saturday, February 1, 2025 8:30 AM (C) Lunch 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM, Morning appointments start at 8:30 am; Afternoon appointments start at 1:30 pm. CONTRACT MSUA $1325 weekly minimum SEEKING Equity actors for The MUNY's 2025 Season (See breakdown). Actors are cast on a per show basis and not as part of a repertory company.
All performers are signed to an Equity MSUA contract. Actors of all ethnicities, backgrounds, gender identities, body types, and abilities for all available roles are encouraged to audition. The Muny serves a diverse, nationwide audience and strives to hire performers that reflect the diversity of our audience.

Come warmed up and dressed to dance.
Dancers should bring character shoes, heels, jazz, tap, as well as knee pads.
You may be asked to demonstrate acrobatic skills or tricks if you have them available to you.
Dancers may be asked to sing.
Please prepare 16-bar cuts of two selections (up-tempo and ballad) in styles appropriate to the shows.

Our central character: truly nice and kind, sincere, who slips easily in and out of a "cheerleader" affect but possesses an innate intelligence.
Being captain of the squad means everything to her.
A leader, driven, can be easily flustered.
Senior in high school.
Pop/rock singer, good belt range.
Range: G3-F5.
Significant dance/cheerleading skills. [BRIDGET] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
Gawky, nerdy, jolly and insecure.
A bouncy optimist in spite of her perceived shortcomings.
Self-effacing to a fault, she blossoms into confidence over the course of the show.
Great singer with R&B and riffing skills.
Range: A3-F5.
Some dance/cheerleading skills. [DANIELLE] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), Black, 18+ to play high schooler.
The "Queen Bee" of Jackson High School, regal, dominating, complicated.
Is head of a talented dance crew.
Has a wicked sense of humor behind a composed mask.
Loyal to her friends, can be lacerating to her enemies, but is ultimately fair.
Strong belt.
Range: F#3-F5.
Significant dance/cheerleading skills. [RANDALL] Character is male (cis, trans, or non-binary), any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
Campbell's developing love interest.
Cute, "alternative," an expert DJ with an easy and generous confidence.
Doesn't need to be a tremendous athlete.
Range: C#3-A4.
Pop/rock tenor voice. [EVA] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), Caucasian or any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
Immensely likeable, sweet, fragile-seeming Freshman who joins the Truman squad – and turns out to be a sociopathic back-stabbing climber who takes over the squad and ruins the lives of many.
(But more emphasis on "sweet and fragile" – we shouldn't see it coming.)
Pop/rock voice.
Range: A3-Eb5.
Significant dance/cheerleading skills. [SKYLAR] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
A more stereotypical "bitchy" cheerleader type, funny, loyal to her friends, not terribly invested in her education.
One of Campbell's wing-women at the beginning of the show.
Range: G3-Gb5.
Some dance/cheerleading skills. [KYLAR] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
A slightly less-intelligent version of Skylar and a year behind her.
Rather a follower, also one of Campbell's sidekicks.
Range: G3-D5.
Some dance/cheerleading skills. [NAUTICA] Character is female (cis, trans, or non-binary), Latina, Black, or any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
Outgoing, funny sidekick to Danielle; sassy, loyal, can be aggressive when called for.
Good singer with R&B and bluesy chops.
Range: F3-Fb5.
Significant dance/cheerleading skills. [LA CIENEGA] Character is transgender female, Latina, Black, or any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
BFFs with Nautica and Danielle.
Has a wicked tongue but a generous spirit.
Range: D3-E5.
Some dance/cheerleading skills. [TWIG] Character is male (cis, trans, or non-binary), Latino, Black, or any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
A funny, well-meaning flirt who develops an instant attraction to curvaceous Bridget.
Good singer with excellent hip-hop/rap skills.
Range: Eb3-A4.
Significant dance/cheerleading skills. [STEVEN] Character is male (cis, trans, or non-binary), any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
A handsome, slightly vapid puppy-dog begins the show as Campbell's boyfriend.
Easily manipulated.
Means well.
Good singer with great dance/cheerleading skills.
Range: D3-Bb4. [CAMERON] Character is male (cis, trans, or non-binary), Latino, Black, or any ethnicity, 18+ to play high schooler.
One of the Jackson students, a hip-hop artist.
A combination class clown and attempted ladies' man, but he strives for fame and fortune.
Good singer with great dance/cheerleading skills.
