Do you have a passion for engine turbocharging and performance? We are now looking for a Performance and Data Analysis Expert to join the Turbocharging and Performance team within the Technical Service department, focusing on Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines. The Turbocharging and Performance team is part of the Engine Components and Performance Expert function. The preferred location for the position is Trieste, Italy or Turku/Vaasa, Finland . In this position, in accordance with the local hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely. Your role and responsibilities The Performance Expert supports our customers to improve the technical and operating performance of our products. We, therefore, seek someone who holds a broad understanding and deep knowledge of engine operation and components , particularly in the areas of turbocharging and exhaust systems. In this role, your work will focus on: Collecting, analysing and sharing performance data and field experience of TC and exhaust system components. Assisting failure analysis of engine components through analysis of performance data. Providing specialised technical support to internal and external customers. New product release support; participation in field follow-up investigations of new engine products. Product improvement support. Support our sales in the retrofit and upgrade activities. Deliver content for manuals, after-sales information and training. Requirements for the position BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education. Motivation and genuine interest in working with 4-stroke engine turbocharging systems, along with prior experience in 4-stroke engines, turbocharging troubleshooting, and performance analysis, is strongly welcomed. Data analysis and reporting skills. Good command of English, both oral and written. Proactive and organized way of working. Communication and networking skills together with a strong customer (internal and external) orientation. Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to act in a global team. Flexible attitude, openness to learning, adapting to and developing new technologies. Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time. As the candidate will work on data analysis, the following skills may be considered advantageous/nice to have: Power BI. Python/Matlab. SQL and NoSQL. Why you and us?
