We are looking for a PDGS Mission Planner to support Earth Explorer missions operations in Frascati, Italy.

**Tasks and Activities**:
The scope of work will include:
- Managing and executing routine Mission Planning operations, including the generation of the Payload Planning File and the X-Band Station Contact Schedule.
- Managing and executing contingency Mission Planning operations mainly related to X-Band station outages and/or instruments' unavailability.
- Managing and executing Delta-Planning operations and handling of Special Operation Requests.
- Coordinating with the interfaces contact point, monitoring the availability of the input data and delivery of the output artifacts according to the applicable ICDs and contractual SLAs/KPIs.
- Analyzing and optimizing the flight rules, mission parameters, and operations.
- Database maintenance, update of the operational configuration, development and maintenance of the operational procedures.
Anomaly tracking and investigation, troubleshooting and definition/implementation of workarounds to resolve unexpected SW issues.
- Development and continuous improvement of the software tools used to analyse data, validate the generated artifacts, and perform trend analysis.
- Updating the project relevant documentation (e.g., FFSs, ICDs) and maintenance under proper configuration control.
- Contributing to the evolutions of the Mission Planning Facility through the definition of upgrades/changes arising from evolving users' needs, including the verification and validation of the new software deliveries.
- Participating to any meeting requested by ESA for reporting or technical support.
- Generating PDGS specific monitoring information and preparation/provision of the inputs for weekly/monthly reporting.
**Skills and Experience**:
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- A university degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline, preferably in Earth Observation or Computer Science.
- Experience in Payload Data Ground segment architecture and/or operations.
- Experience with LEO Mission Planning Systems.
- Knowledge of the ECSS standards.
- Programming/scripting skills, preferably with Python and bash.
- Able to acquire in depth technical understanding and knowledge of PDGS systems (overall architecture, data flows, interfaces, dependencies) in a limited time.
- The capacity to synthesise complex technical concepts.
- Experience with configuration management, change control and release management.
- Pro-active and a team player.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Result oriented and capable of generating good documentation.
- You are capable to work autonomously.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
