The Payments Director will report to the COO and act as the senior expert in banking and payments systems as the company expands globally.
Job Description Lead the implementation of the new internal payments system internally. Act as a Senior Leader within the business providing knowledge and advice on payments and banking as part of our global expansion. Maintain relationships with our banking partners and correspondent banks Reporting to the COO you will work closely with them delivering projects such as new products, services or markets Working with our external and internal IT stakeholders on technology improvements and systems upgrades Implementing new payments upgrades and methods to provide innovative products to our clients Liaising directly with the compliance, sales, and dealing teams as well as with clients to ensure a smooth payments experience for clients Leadership and strategic direction of the settlements team in the UK and Italy Provide training and development to the Settlements team and to front office staff on the settlements process Working closely with the COO and CCO to ensure efficient operations between conduit front, middle and back-office functions in relation to settlement operations Provide reporting of the firm's settlements processes to the firms Chief Operations Officer Overseeing the Reconciling our client accounts in multiple currencies Improving our payments systems and processes to make efficiency gains. Being a supportive manager to the Head of Settlements, assisting with payment investigations and client settlement queries as and when required Processing and monitoring of a daily payable and receivable transaction Person Specification The successful candidate will need to be articulate, detail orientated, and confident to display a clear level of intelligence when liaising with various stakeholders within the business and have an ability to perform consistently in a role that is vital to the day-to-day running of the business. You should have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in payments and back-office functions in a financial institution, with experience in running a settlements or payments processing team which includes people management. You should have a detailed knowledge of the Swift payments network and its operation processes and have experience of banking relationships. Experience with rolling out new products, improving processes, and managing projects is also essential. Knowledge of the Payment Services Regulations, including reconciliations, safeguarding and safeguarding obligations is preferable, but not essential.
