You will have a crucial role in our organization to make sure Prysmian gets the most benefit from their inventions; working as Patent Specialist means partnering with inventors and colleagues worldwide keeping Prysmian at the forefront of the energy and telecom cable industry.How are you going to do this?Facilitating conversations with colleagues in research and development (R&D) and the business side about the importance of protecting ideas (as technical solution to technical problems).you will actively be seeking for new inventions within Prysmian that could be protected through patents.working with inventors to see if their ideas can be legally protected and choose the best way to do so, considering Prysmian's overall IP strategy.managing the application process for patents, including working with external professionals.
This involves some back-and-forth discussions with these professionals and inventors to make sure everything is perfect.You will review Prysmian patent portfolio to ensure it remains relevant and valuable.Understanding the competition and analyzing patents held by other companies to see if they might impact Prysmian's products.continuously learning about the latest IP laws and practices through courses and collaboration with colleagues.Your experiences A university background in Chemistry, Material Science, Industrial Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemical engineering is requested,A proven experience as Patent Attorney/Specialist in a corporation or private law firm.Fluency in English and proactive communication skills are mandatory.Additional Qualifications and Experience:National Patent Attorney qualification,European Patent Attorney qualification.strong motivation to follow additional courses or training.significant experience in an in-house industry patent department,Knowledge of patent law and the associated patent prosecution proceedings in the main jurisdictions (EP, GB, DE, US, preferably others),Experienced in analyzing products, patents, prior art documents and standards and preparing claim charts to facilitate patent enforcement.Your application data will be treated according to our Data Protection Policy.
