Description
The Patent Attorney will be responsible for the following activities:
Draft and prosecute patent applications ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct prior art searches and patentability assessments to evaluate the novelty and inventiveness of inventions. Collaborate with inventors, scientists, and engineers to understand inventions and prepare detailed patent specifications. Advise clients on patent strategy, including patent filing strategies, portfolio management, and enforcement options. Analyse and respond to office actions and oppositions from patent offices and third parties. Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses to assess potential infringement risks and intellectual property opportunities. Monitor patent portfolios and provide guidance on patent maintenance and annuity payments. Keep abreast of developments in patent law and industry trends, and provide training and updates to clients and colleagues. Profile
The successful candidate has the following characteristics:
Qualification as an Italian Patent Attorney Full or partial qualification as a European Patent Attorney (EQE) with admission to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO). Strong knowledge of Italian and European patent law and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English. Ability to manage complex patent portfolios and work effectively under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using patent databases and legal research tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in patent litigation and opposition proceedings. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's or PhD) in a technical field. Certification or coursework in intellectual property law. Demonstrated track record of successful patent prosecution and portfolio management. Job Offer
