He/she defines the architecture and functionalities of a TC&IS System - PACIS, CCTV, Infotainment, Internet on Board, Train to Ground Communication - in compliance with Customer requirements.
He/she ensures the integration of the on-board equipment into the vehicle and the integration of the on-board system with the ground bases. He/she operates under the supervision of the TC&IS Domain Leader.
The System Engineer is accountable for delivering the subsystem documentation such as RSAD (Requirement Specification and Architecture Description), TPS (Technical Purchase Specification), Network Addressing Plan, ICD (Interface Control Document), Test Specifications.
Main Responsibilities:Defining and implementing the functional, performance, transverse and train level requirements of the subsystem.Integrating the subsystem into the vehicle from a mechanical, electrical and software point of view.Defining and freezing the mechanical and electrical interfaces for the subsystem at a very early stage of the project.Verifying the subsystem, focusing at train level, including Design Reviews.Managing the Change and Configuration Management process for the subsystem at train level.Planning and following up all activities linked to the subsystem.Supporting sourcing, suppliers and PUs (Participating Units).Providing inputs to engineering team, sourcing, internal or external suppliers.Interfacing the suppliers both for HW and SW aspects.Managing Verification and Validation Plan.Knowledge and Experience:Junior Electrical/Telecommunication/Information System engineer or experienced engineer with 3 years of experience in the dedicated subsystem in the rail business.Understanding the system engineering process and mastering system engineering methodologies.Innovation: Monitor specific market needs and innovations related to system engineering and dedicated subsystem.Fluent English; nice to have but not mandatory Italian mother tongue.At Alstom, we value curious and innovative people who are passionate about working together to reinvent mobility, making it smarter and more sustainable.
