Operations Manager - Radiology, FT Job Description Summary The Imaging Manager reports directly to the Facility Director of Imaging Services, with secondary reporting to the System Director for Quality, Accreditation, and Education for Imaging Services, specifically for quality, accreditation, and safety responsibilities. The Imaging Manager is a hybrid role responsible for overseeing all imaging operations within the assigned healthcare facility or facilities along with responsibilities to Imaging Quality. The Hybrid nature of the Imaging Manager's responsibilities will reflect time utilization of approximately 60% operations and 40% quality.
Under limited supervision, the Imaging Manager manages clinical and administrative functions across multiple imaging areas or modalities, including equipment management, personnel, scheduling, financial oversight, business growth, quality control, and customer service. This role also involves working closely with radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff to optimize workflow, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance overall departmental efficiency.
In addition to operational duties, the Imaging Manager is tasked with ensuring the Imaging department adheres to regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards. This includes assisting with developing, operationalizing, and enforcing safe practices, facilitating audits, and providing ongoing training to leadership and staff. The manager collaborates with key stakeholders to promote patient safety and improve performance through the implementation of quality initiatives and the monitoring of key performance metrics.
The role ensures continuous compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards, while contributing to strategic planning initiatives such as expanding radiology services or consolidating existing ones in alignment with MUHA and MUSC Physicians' objectives.
Additional Job Description Education: Graduate of an approved, accredited A.R.R.T. program. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 5 years applied clinical experience in Radiology; prior three years of supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & other applicable modalities.
• CPR certification required.
