For our Group Technology Organization - Strategy & Transformation we are looking for an Open Innovation Project Manager, with the mission to Identify new and innovative opportunities for Electrolux Group in external Open Innovation Networks (e.g.
start-ups, University spin-offs, Corporations, in different technology and business sectors, etc.)
to address internal challenges and support internal receivers in screening and turning them into applicable solutions.
In this role you will have the objective to leverage external and internal capabilities to accelerate innovation and discover new directions by means of: building and maintaining a strong network; scouting innovative opportunities within the various ecosystems of innovation to address company challenges; empowering internal functions to turn such opportunities into applicable and actionable solutions; and promoting new trends of innovation to forecast new courses of action to the leadership of the organization.
Open Innovation Team is responsible for initiatives that leverages external capabilities creating synergies between internal and external networks.
Open Innovation team is part of the Group Technology Office (GTO) and it is spread across Italy (Porcia), Sweden (Stockholm) and US (Charlotte).
Innovation Factory is the Group's first Open Innovation Hub.
It serves as a hub for our employees as well as for external partners to accelerate innovation within products and manufacturing.
This new collaborative space inspires news ways to conceive, generate and validate new innovative solutions.
New open innovation approach requires a competent and dedicated team to deliver project results according to the new GTO mission and being able to support and coordinate internal needs throughout external opportunity scouting, solution validation and effective execution.
Tasks:
- Challenge the Electrolux OI approach to keep it and its portfolio of initiatives relevant, by means of continuous benchmarking with "OI role models" and partners, defining new services and cascading them across different Electrolux departments and/or external partners.
- Build and strengthen open innovation network by fostering cross-collaborations and defining alliances with open innovation brokers or partners in academic, industrial, financial and institutional ecosystems to reach innovators worldwide.
- Support the definition of new collaboration mechanisms to contribute to the successful implementation Open Innovation with respect to co-innovation and transformative innovation opportunities.
- Work with internal stakeholders on strategic areas to define specific needs, both in terms of business and technology, supporting them in problem investigation or in envisioning the desired outcome so as to define the scope for innovation challenges.
- Define and project manage the appropriate OI initiative in line with Electrolux strategy and internal stakeholder expectations.
- Engage with the external open innovation network, scout and identify innovative solutions, filter according to the agreed criteria and support internal stakeholder in screening them.
- Support Electrolux departments to deliver the critical activities to transform an OI opportunity into an Electrolux project (agreements, prototypes, business analysis and technology assessment).
Qualifications:
- Engineering educational background with any field of specialization (preferably, Management Engineering) with strong business acumen; or Business Administration / Business Management coupled with deep technology understanding.
- 4-6 year experience in technology strategy, technology assessment, business innovation and management both in industrial or consulting context.
Previous experience in open innovation, preferably from other business sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and remote, cross-functional teams
- Acknowledgement of Intellectual Property management, partnership agreements and new alliance models
- You are a problem solver with a "can-do" attitude, willing to create an impact in the organization
- You are able to analyze and to adapt to different people and situations, remaining composed during ambiguity, as well as to properly communicate with people, from executives to junior staff
- You approach things from different perspectives; openness, agility and proactivity are your bread and butter
