WFP's mission is to help achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes, ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry and that vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, have access to nutritious food.
The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive reporting, advocacy, and fundraising support for WFP's nutrition work, with a focus on mobilizing catalytic and core funding and enhancing reporting efforts to a range of donors, including governments, foundations, and individual donors.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIESWorking closely with the various Nutrition units and COs and under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Outreach and Advocacy (NOA) team lead, the candidate will perform the following duties:
Support proposal writing and preparation for global nutrition grants;Consult with various WFP country office and regional bureau staff, as well as staff in Nutrition HQ teams and Global WFP Offices;Map and identify key and potential partners for proposals, including NGOs, private sector, UN agencies, and government ministries;Support grant schedules and tracking grants;Coordinate and track the progress of submitted proposals;Support donor report drafting, ensuring that all donor reports are completed in a timely manner;Provide COs with templates and guidance developed for better external communication, fundraising and reporting;Prepare official correspondence in line with standard protocol (including standard agreements, thank-you letters for contributions and meetings, briefs for high-level meetings and presentations), support appeals and communications as necessary;Perform other related duties, as required.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Education: Advanced degree in International Relations; Communications; Political Science or similar fields.
Experience: A minimum of three years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in reporting on developmental/humanitarian operations.
Experience in international development, communications, donor aid programmes or other related fields; previous experience with fundraising, donor reporting, and work experience within the public sector an asset.
Knowledge & Skills: Strong writing, communication and negotiation skills; Ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders on deadlines; Ability to work at fast pace and under tight deadlines; Ability to work with people at all levels and foster cross-departmental cooperation.
Languages: Fluency in English required; Knowledge of a second UN language would be an asset, especially French.
