Overview:Job Title: Network EngineerLocation: ItalyJob Responsibilities:The Network Engineer position shall be responsible for:In-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs), and Traffic Engineering Duties.Experience with Wireless, Riverbeds, and Call Manager Express.Well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages.Submit accurate and timely updates for all assigned projects, project completion updates, and system tests.Well versed in all the following networks: SIPR, NIPR, Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange (CENTRIXS), Battlefield Information Collection and Exploration System (BICES), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), CENTCOM Partner Networks, Wireless Local Area Network (LAN).Knowledge of switching protocols including Common Spanning Tree (CST), Military Image and Surveillance Technology Protocol (MISTP), and others.Familiarity with Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) technologies and IP services.Minimum Qualifications:An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance.Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.A minimum of six (6) years of in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like MPLS, VPLS, and VPNs.Experience with Wireless and Riverbeds.Well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems.Desired Qualifications:Prefer Cisco certifications, specifically Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.About Trace SystemsTrace Systems Inc. was founded to support and defend our nation's security interests at home and abroad.
