Job description Our Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) team is looking for an engineer with experience in the real time processing of images taken from cameras or other similar sensors.
He/She will join the company in the Casoria's offices and will take responsibility for the design, development, and test of visual based processing algorithms to be integrated in new multi-sensor navigation products.
The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team with experience on modelling and simulation of aerospace systems, development of Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithms, and multi-sensor navigation unit.
Duties and responsabilities He/She will take the following responsibilities: Analysis of features and selection of image sensors (cameras, LIDARs, etc.)
for navigation purposes.
Definition of requirements, design, modeling, and simulation of visual based navigation algorithms in Matlab/Simulink or similar environment related to image processing.
Support integration of image processing algorithms with other navigation sensor fusion algorithms and for evaluation of the integrity of the solution.
Support to the definition of test plans, video sensor calibration procedure, execution of test campaigns and analysis of results.
Support to software coding, testing and qualification of the image processing algorithms.
Qualifications and Skills Master's degree in one of the following disciplines: Aerospace, Computer Science, Robotics and Automation.
Knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals.
Good knowledge of integrated digital systems and related architectures, and of image sensors and related calibration procedures.
Consolidated knowledge in the use of image processing and modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink.
Consolidated knowledge of image processing algorithms and of sensor fusion techniques.
Able to work autonomously and/or in team.
Attitude to problem solving and to achieve results within time and cost constraints.
Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking (the knowledge of additional languages is a plus).
