We are now looking to recruit a **Nautical Superintendent** to boost our capacity to the next level with a dedicated team and support of our modern management.
Bore is a well-known RoRo tonnage provider in European shortsea shipping. The company manages a fleet of Dutch and Finnish flagged vessels. **What is the purpose of the position?**
Nautical Superintendent serves Bore's internal and external stakeholders as an operational level expert for QHSSE and nautical matters.
**Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment**:
- Collaborates and mentors an organizational culture of uncompromised safety, reliability, sustainability and compliance. Driving tactfully towards continuous improvement and excellence using management tools, training and mentoring.
- Maintains, develops and implements Bore's Safety and Quality Management System. Collaborates closely with vessels' crew, shore organization and maritime authorities in the development work of the SQMS manual.
- Maintains certification and compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC and ISO 14001 by scheduling, facilitating and carrying out audits, both internal and external.
- Maintains Port State Control (PSC) collaboration by analyzing inspection report data and using this data to implement system level improvements both onboard and ashore.
- Maintains occupational safety management policies and procedures.
- Administers processes for non-conformities and deviation reports by conducting investigations to identify root causes, opportunities and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintains, develops and implements the companies Environmental Management System as part of SQMS.
- Works together with the organization setting targets, methods and implementation methodologies for continues improvement in areas of Environmental Sustainability, and compliance with current and future environmental legislation.
**Fleet operations**:
You'll support the Nautical & Operations Manager, your immediate superior, and act as his deputy, and by so together creating a system level continues support for the fleet, customers and shoreside organization.
**Competence requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime (or equivalent) field. Higher education as advantage.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry, it's compliance, rules and regulations, as well implementing them to operational processes.
- Couple of years of experience in QHSSE related tasks at land or at sea. Alternatively other land-based maritime business related experience. Seafaring experience can be considered, but requirement is from higher management level.
- Team player with solid leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to handle larger entities, at times in a stressful and hectic environment.
- Fluent written and spoken language skills. (Excellent English is a prerequisite, Finnish and Swedish are considered an advantage)
- ICT literacy
- Certification as Lead Auditor (ISM/ISPS) is considered an advantage
- Certification as Company Security Officer is considered an advantage
