Offer DescriptionIn the context of central nervous system disorders, tumors are certainly one of the most widespread and lethal pathologies, and among them, tumors originating from glial cells are the most common and malignant form with a mortality rate that remains high. N-acylethanolamides (NAEs) are endogenous lipid mediators that include the endocannabinoid N-arachidonoylethanolamide (AEA) and its derivatives palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) and oleoylethanolamide (OEA). Recent studies have shown that NAEs are involved in the regulation of several pathological conditions, including immunomodulation, chronic pain, and inflammation. Therefore, based on this, the aim is to evaluate the role of NAEs in cell proliferation, as well as in the modulation of angiogenesis in several brain tumors such as glioma, meningioma, and glioblastoma.
