We are looking for a hands-on, Network Engineer who is just as passionate about network technology, optical equipment, and routers as well as improving network processes, solution design, and achieving new milestones. Our ideal candidate has an in-depth understanding of the technical landscape of optical infrastructure and active network technology. They should combine deep knowledge of networking and security with the capacity to formulate important network decision-making based on business and customer requirements. The candidate should be capable of autonomously executing and managing projects and processes with our team and third parties.
Portfolio and responsibilities:
Technical support or execution of sold customer circuits and expansion of our active (layer 2) "XNET" connections. Technical support for the CTO/network architect in both active and passive connections; innovation, monitoring, and expansion of technical possibilities. Manage ECI SDN server, customer circuits (within SDN), roll out of logical optical network paths. Testing dark fiber, selecting and testing optical line cards, responsible for the lab. Activate quality checks of delivered connections through measurements (including outsourcing) and monitoring per active customer port. Quality checks on delivered work by third parties. Quality checks recurring on data center (POP) installations. Commissioning, planning, and delivering data centers (POPs) independently or in cooperation with partners in accordance with standards and operating procedures. Participate in NOC activities and 24×7 standby services. General management of the Fiber Telecom's network including management of our data centers. Manage Layer 1 XNET/WDM-ODF/control and use Fiber Telecom standards. Manage Layer 3 XNET/security connection with third parties. Management of locations of the active and passive components. Participate in technical/commercial brainstorming sessions. Dialogue with/supporting sales and delivery. Hands-on, autonomous and practical approach, where necessary solving things yourself technically. Fiber Telecom expects the candidate to have:
