Mark School is seeking a full-time middle school ELA instructor to teach grades 6-8 for the 2024-2025 school year.

At St. Mark, we utilize the Reader's and Writer's Workshop model, based on the "Predictable 5-part Workshop Framework" found in the Lucy Calkins TCRWP Colleagues Units of Study.
Training will be provided if needed.The candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and administration.
Duties include monitoring a grade-level homeroom, high school preparation, assisting with 8th grade graduation activities, and other responsibilities assigned by administration.
Clear communication with administration, parents, and students is essential.
Additionally, the candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church and willing to support its teachings.St Mark School offers a competitive salary above the ADLA teacher's salary scale, along with medical, dental, and vision benefits, and participation in a 403b retirement program.RequirementsPossess a Bachelor's degree in English from an accredited university and hold a CA Teaching Credential;Have an understanding and ability to implement Common Core Standards;Be knowledgeable of various online resources/programs for in-person teaching and distance learning;Be able to prepare and implement lesson plans, instruct students using effective classroom management, monitor student progress, evaluate performance, and maintain accurate records;Perform other duties and administrative tasks per school protocol and/or administration's request;Be a Catholic in good standing with the teachings of the Catholic Church (preferred).Additional requirements include: Virtus Certified; Live Scan through ADLA; TB Neg.
Test Result; CPR Certification; and Catechetical Certification (preferred).Wage RangeThe rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget.
New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
Compensation decisions consider various factors including skill sets, experience, training, and departmental needs.
