Job ResponsibilitiesPrepares samples for indicator organisms, sterility tests, working and Master cell cultures.Applies aseptic techniques in daily workload.Maintains media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.Provides routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.Performs quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.Independently pursues an assigned series of processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with Zoetis policies and procedures.Maintains laboratory conditions, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.Performs all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.Shares information in an open, and timely manner.Performs standard testing procedures and analyses according to assigned priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved.Assists the supervisor in the organization and follow up of the RD projects with designing and conducting experiments, and then carefully observing and reporting on the results.Plans and reports results from laboratory and pilot microbiological and fermentation studies.Performs Process and media development lab trials.Works together with a multidisciplinary team for complex investigations and problem-solving activities.Desired Skills and ExperienceAs laboratory technician specialized in microbiology, the position will be responsible for keeping the microbiology laboratory well-maintained, from cleaning and sterilizing surfaces and equipment to organizing and cataloging samples.
He will work according to the cGMP and standard procedures supporting all the manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, biotechnology, microbiology, or related discipline.Experience: At least 1 year of industrial or academic laboratory experience in microbiology.Core CompetenciesGood knowledge of GxP.Excellent written and spoken communication and management ability.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Organized and able to implement laboratory routine programs.Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures used in a microbiology laboratory.Strong sense of responsibility.Good speaking and listening in English (B2 level required).Proficient in office software like Words, PowerPoint and Excel.EHS awareness and ability to identify risks.Ability to carry out urgent tasks.Self-motivated and flexible to learn and respond to changing responsibilities and priorities.About ZoetisAt Zoetis, our purpose is to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals.
