Piper Maddox are working on behalf of a European battery cell manufacturer specialising in the production of Na-ion & Li-ion batteries for Energy Storage Systems (ESS), industrial, and special applications.
They are currently building a gigafactory in Southern Europe and their next key hire is a Chemical/Electrochemical Metrology Engineer to manage and improve metrology tools and quality control methods.
You will join a groundbreaking gigafactory project and play a key part in scaling it from scratch.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the full lifecycle of metrology tools and ensure the development, deployment, and training of quality control methods, including risk analysis and compliance with measurement system analysis (MSA). Perform and analyze measurements, benchmark and evaluate new techniques, and lead quality improvement plans to optimize reliability, cost, and cycle time. Support cross-functional problem-solving activities, develop technical expertise, and document and transfer lessons learned. Your background & experience:
Degree in Chemical/Electrochemical Engineering. 3-6 years of experience in Quality Control using tools such as XRF, XRD, Electron microscopy, ICP MS/AES, Karl Fisher, GC-MS, preferably within a battery company. Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory; proficiency in Italian (oral and written) is highly preferred.
