Metallurgy Discipline Leader (Ref.TN/MDL-24)
We are looking for a Metallurgy Discipline Leader willing to join our Electrical Arc & Ladle Furnace Product Line.
The candidate will leverage a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the requirements of high-quality steel grades (including stainless, SBQ, low-residuals, ULC) and the metallurgical processes, contribute to the definition of technological solution to match the Customer's needs and actively contribute to the success of the initiatives.
Furthermore, he/she can inspire trust in the perspective customers, promoting the awareness of Tenova capabilities and values.
He/She can gather information from the market and improve the metallurgical culture throughout the sales organization. Provide support to the operation team during the implementation of the projects, also participating to the field activities.
You will carry out the following activities: Analyze the product mixes indicated by the perspective customers and identify the requirements and define in cooperation with the Project Engineering Team the most effective and efficient technological solution to satisfy the requirements; Interact with the perspective customers to co-engineer the solution and fit it to the specific constraints and opportunities. Leverage the strengths of the organization and inspire trust in our capability to provide the best possible solution; Through the interaction with the users, continuously improve TENOVA competences and credibility as a reliable, knowledgeable partner for the development of valuable, effective technological solutions; Provide process engineering input to marketing and proposals, by giving technical assistance to support Business Development and Marketing strategies; Provide process information, such as: basic design calculations, process engineering input to project implementation, project set up, commissioning and construction activities; Prepare the process specifications and the most appropriate dimensioning of all the system components; Define the process performance. Manage the technical documentation of the process, both internal and external (third parties), revising and commenting the offers and suppliers documents. Knowing the needs and expectations of the users as well as the specific market, conceive innovative technological solutions to match, leveraging TENOVA portfolio and experience. Support the field activities and provide process consultancy services to support our customers in reaching their quality targets. Exploit the field activity to grow and capitalize the know-how of the Team. Consolidate the knowledge and make it accessible to the whole organization. Technical skills: High-quality steel grades Knowledge of the analyses and quality requirements of high-quality steel grades, including stainless steel, SBQ, low-residual, magnetic steel, IF. Knowledge of the international market (main users and producers).
Metallurgy In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of the steelmaking processes required to produce high-quality steel grades, with particular focus on the secondary steelmaking, supported by significant field experience in international context.
Steelmaking technologies and equipment Knowledge of process, control, quality, electrical, etc. equipment specifications, suppliers and features (including equipment installation and components).
Process Control Parameters Knowledge of the parameters to control the process.
Process simulation Ability to simulate processes by means of software or other methodologies.
Required profile: Degree in Engineering; Professional experience developed over a minimum period of 5 years in the engineering of heavy industries, such as metallurgy and mining, iron and steel industry, glass industry, waste treatment and petrochemistry. Experience in pyrometallurgy or steelmaking is an added value; Developed interpersonal skills, propensity for teamwork in a multicultural environment; Innovation Management: capability to facilitate and lead the innovation process, evaluate and improve innovation capability in the organization; Knowledge of English language, another is a plus; Willingness to travel.
