Context for the Role: The Ardonagh Group is a diversified insurance distribution platform which ranks as a top 3 broker in the UK and a top 15 broker globally.
It owns insurance broking and distribution businesses in the UK, Australia, the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Ireland.
Ardonagh is majority owned by leading institutional investors HPS Investment Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Ardonagh generated over $522m of PF EBITDA in the 12 months to 30 December 2023, and has raised significant capital for expansion through MA.
Ardonagh has identified and opportunity to embark on a buy and build MA strategy in the retail insurance broking sector in Italy.
This strategy will be executed by the local Italian leadership team supported by the Ardonagh Central MA team.
Purpose of the Role: This role will be with the Ardonagh Italia business and will play a key part in supporting its inorganic growth through the delivery of an outstandingly executed MA strategy.
The Ardonagh Italia MA Director will work closely with the Ardonagh Central MA team and finance professionals supporting the execution of the Italy MA strategy.
The MA Manager will report to the Ardonagh Italia CFO.Qualifications Experience:7+ years of working within transaction services, MA, investment, private equity, MA or corporate advisory.Minimum of undergraduate qualification in a related field and a relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA and or CFA/MBA.Fluency in English is essential.Experience of the insurance industry would be of benefit but not essential.Person Specification:Excellent financial analysis skills - including the ability to critically assess and articulate the value drivers of a business.Excellent presentation and report writing skills - displaying a clear thought process and a well-developed ability to clearly communicate complex messages in all mediums of communication.Ability to create financial models - and a good understanding of valuation methodologies.Strategic thinker - able to develop and consider the strategic implications of acquisition opportunities.Strong communication skills - the ability to effectively articulate messages to different parts of the organisation and external parties.
