In this position, you will provide expertise and support in the assessment and management of individual Medical UW and claims cases from a medical, non-medical (financial, special risks etc), legal, contractual, and administrative perspective at SCOR Italy. You will help manage the different internal tools confirming a correct workflow process and you will play a proactive role in the future linked to the Med UW and Claims evolutions (Digitization and other innovation initiatives).
Medical and Financial Underwriting Manual: You contribute to the benefit definition and updating of the rules and regulations of the medical and financial UW manual (SOLEM or equivalent). You adapt to the local language and proactively provide clear guidance on the definitions. Cases Handling / Client Communication: You apply sophisticated underwriting procedures to assess medical and financial risks for facultative clients. You handle, understand, and manage the different types of claims. You communicate with all levels of client's underwriters and other company management personnel, explaining the reasoning and theory surrounding underwriting impairments, problems, and/or decisions. You set up and drive initiatives linked to Medical UW & Claims client servicing (mainly case handling) and highlight relevant findings for action, ensuring competitive turnaround times while maintaining SCOR standards for UW & Claims philosophy. Commercial and Marketing: You keep up-to-date with current medical topics, economics, and the business environment as well as changing/new financial evaluation concepts and measures. You carry out medical and financial UW training for clients (seminars, specific training, etc.). You contribute to the local adaptation of informative documents prepared by the company regarding medical and financial underwriting. Product Development/Innovation: You incorporate the financial and medical underwriting perspective into product development. You collaborate closely with the Business Development and pricing teams to develop new products and benefits. You have an innovative mindset and are knowledgeable about AI trends in the Medical UW & Claims area and how this could change the UW environment. You support clients during the onboarding of tools provided by SCOR. You promote commercially the EUW and VClaim tools and assist clients and colleagues of Velogica in the implementation of these tools. Governance and Reporting: You understand the internal processes, tools, and systems for UW & Claims. You prepare additional reports required for business monitoring and accumulation. You collaborate with the technical accounting department for the control and registration of claims. You collaborate with the actuarial department to monitor professional athletes. You have professional experience in the insurance sector, with a priority on life reinsurance. 8-10 years of experience in this area (minimum 5 years). You possess excellent communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams. You are a change agent for innovation transformation. You have at least a bachelor's degree in economics, insurance, or a similar field. You have strong analytical and reporting analysis capabilities. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving. You have a strong (excellent) spirit of collaboration. You have an international mindset (ability to adapt to different cultures/practices and understand those differences). You can identify the necessary risks and challenges to our UW and Claims functions and provide input into solutions. You bring a strong mindset for facilitating best practices. You enjoy good team spirit and are willing to work with others. You are available to travel in Italy and abroad to meet clients and/or for internal and/or international meetings.
