Job Purpose The Hematology (momelotinib) Medical Affairs Lead will actively contribute to achieving the company goals by providing strategic medical input into the product development, planning, and executing medical-scientific activities. Together with his/her team, this role establishes a successful and sustainable liaison with external medical community and lifecycle management.
Reporting to the Medical LOC Oncology Head, this role defines the country medical strategy of the assigned indication, ensures its reflection in cascading medical affairs plan and is in charge of the successful activities of direct reports and team members.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities Medical therapeutic area lead for hematology (momelotinib). Builds and implement the medical strategy for momelotinib and supervises the medical plan implementation. Leads a medical advisor within the therapeutic area. Liases with the MSL Head to define strategy execution plan. Acts as the main local reference for the Global and Regional Medical Affairs Leaders within the therapeutic area Supervises key opinion leaders' advisory groups for assigned product. Acts as a medical resource in GSK Hemato-Oncology and support the clinical operation team and Market Access departments. Act as a core member of therapeutic area (cross-functional) team. Represents the company via presentations to groups of experts, societies, regulatory bodies and at international meetings. Establishes ongoing liaison with key stakeholders, external experts, government officials, senior regulatory authorities. Ensures that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored. Why You? Basic Qualifications: Scientific degree with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in onco-haematology. State of the art knowledge in Hematology is mandatory (background experience in myelofibrosis will be highly appreciated). Successful experience working in a matrix team environment to deliver solutions without directly 'owning' all the staff or solution delivery functions. Pharmaceutical industry experience, with adequate and sound knowledge in pharmaceutical development and knowledge of all aspects of drug development, GCP and regulations. Clinical-medical partnership excellence People Management experience. Compassionate use program (CUP) experience. Clear understanding of LOC CUP regulation and management. Excellence in written and spoken English and Italian. Preferred Qualifications: PhD, (board certified MD, preferred; Specialty in Haematology is a plus). Leadership role experience and successfully executed. Understanding of marketing principles and strategies. Strong collaboration, documentation, and presentation skills, demonstrated superior verbal, written, and presentation skills with all levels of staff. Outstanding communication skills, flexible thinking, and consideration of other opinions / perspectives, utilizing the strengths and diversity of other team members to improve own performance. Confident, positive attitude, enthusiastic and charismatic. Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, simultaneously handling multiple tasks and working under pressure as well as influence skills. Demonstrated customer focus, integrity and relationship building skills, consensus building skills. Strong leadership behaviors and self-perception as a role model. Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Resilience and change agility and lifelong learning mindset Excellent communication skills.
