We seek a talented Mechatronic Engineer to join our team and help us design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge mechatronic systems.
Role Summary (What You Will Do): System Design and Integration: Design and integrate mechanical components, electronic sensors, actuators, and control systems to create innovative, high-performance bioreactor systems. Prototyping and Testing: Develop mechanical and mechatronic prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to ensure system functionality and reliability. Fluid System Design, Testing, and Construction: Work with fluid systems, including designing systems with valves, pumps, and compressed air/gas. Design for Manufacturing & Assembly: Design parts and manufacturing processes which meet rigorous chemical/biocompatibility requirements. Construction, Assembly, and Commissioning: Physically build Arsenale's cutting-edge bioreactor systems and verify system performance with commissioning/deployment procedures. Control Systems Development: Contribute to the development of bioreactor control systems, algorithms, and test equipment to optimize the performance of mechatronic systems. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance to detect and prevent problems. Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and technicians to support mechanical design projects and prototyping efforts. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (What You Bring): Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and developing mechatronic systems. Hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical hardware. Strong understanding of fluid systems and related components. Familiarity with programming languages such as C++ and Python and familiarity with standard electronics prototyping tools such as Arduino and RaspberryPi. Strong experience in automation and/or robotics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment. Experience with design packages such as SolidWORKS. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with control and electronics systems and algorithm development. Prior experience with prototyping and testing of mechatronic systems.
