Solaris Biotech is a Donaldson brand that Designs and Manufactures Bioprocessing equipment, including Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) systems for RD and production purposes.
We engage in providing high-tech bioprocess solutions; our products are used in Universities, Research Centers, as well as in Biotech, Pharma, Food and Beverage, Nutraceutical, Cosmeceutical, Chemical, Agricultural industries, and, not to mention bioplastics and biofuels applications.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer.
The position will be based in Porto Mantovano.
Key Responsibilities: Support RD efforts for up- and downstream Bioprocessing by designing and developing innovative bioreactor filtration solutions for Biotech, Pharma and Food and Beverage industry.
Apply bioprocess industry and engineering experience of the end-to-end bioprocess to innovate and solve complex customer challenges and create competitive advantage in the bioprocessing space.
Developing mechanical design of product concepts in 3D.
Perform calculations and simulations together with process engineering and manufacturing teams.
Carry out engineering design according to cGMP, pharmaceutical technical regulation, and local regulations.
Assist in evaluation of product prototypes and their manufacturability.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Process/Pharmaceutical Engineering.
1-3 years of experience in mechanical design of equipment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across a globally diverse workforce.
Basic understanding of applicable regulatory and quality Standards (CE, cGMP, …).
Fluent English is a must.
Willingness to learn Italian is appreciated.
Technical Competence Skills: Knowledge of process control and PIDs standard settings.
Capability of hydraulic sizing of lines and main process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, agitation groups, valves, etc.).
Knowledge safety regulation related to machinery (Machinery Directive, PED, ASME-U, etc.).
Experience in using 2D/3D software such as: Autocad, Solid Edge, Solidworks, Siemens NX.
Capability to manage multiple projects.
Hands-on mentality and problem-solving mindset and taking initiative.
Ability to take initiative, plan and execute tasks independently.
