Mechanical Engineer Datalogic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support under the guidance of his/her supervisor the design, development and testing of mechanical components for complex optomechatronic devices such as stationary industrial Scanners for barcode reading applications (image-based, single-plane, omni-direction or line scan barcode reader).
Role Mission:
The role is responsible for designing and developing mechanical products in the R&D area. She/he will follow projects from preliminary requirements to mass production, throughout the development stages, interacting with candidate suppliers as well.
Besides new products, she/he will be involved in the maintenance of existing products to solve problems arising from the field or production, in strict collaboration with other departments (Quality Assurance, Procurement, Operation).
Key Responsibilities:
Solicit, generate and manage requirements related to SW components; Apply internal processes for new product development; Design and implement complex software subsystems and whole systems within a larger embedded product using software engineering best practices. Take design choices autonomously and validate them in a cooperative process and be able to lead deep technical discussions; Troubleshoot the design, drive the relation with Validation and Verification team in a fruitful manner; Study and benchmark the competitor's products; Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software; Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
