We're seeking a Manufacturing Engineer t o join our fast-paced Engineering team in Naples, FL . JOB SUMMARY: Working along with the Senior Engineer, will be responsible for developing the manufacturing and machining strategies that support the efficient production of our Mil-Spec Wire Rope Fittings, Loos Precision Products, Sheaves, Swaging/Cutting Tools, and Seismic Bracing products. Working with Operations, using CAD/CAM systems, develop manufacturing processes that optimize current machining capabilities. Contributes to the Rope & Assemblies Division productivity and automation projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Design/develop/test/document new swaging tools and wire rope fittings. Rapid prototyping for early evaluation of design concepts. Determines and reviews all manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility, both before and after engineering releases to manufacturing Creates and/or maintains Engineering Drawing for all products. Works with Quality Department to ensure adherence to the Government and Aerospace Quality System requirements. Manages QPL (Qualified Producers List) approval status and participates in product specific meetings. Provide technical support to customers seeking solutions relative to products and services offered by the company. Provides Engineering support for key product lines – i.e. Seismic Bracing, Sheaves, etc. Evaluate and implement automation opportunities across the facility to ensure business continuity, improve products, and reduce material / machining / assembly costs. Works cross-functionally with department supervisors and implements cost-reduction projects; maintains detailed documentation as required. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: As assigned by the Senior Engineer 4. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: GD&T interpretation and implementation capabilities. Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and to work effectively in a diverse workforce. Ability to effectively communicate engineering requirements internally and externally. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience/knowledge of metal working and process automation. CAD/CAM training, preferably with SolidWorks/SolidCam. Ability to take initiative on a wide range of project activities and situations. Ability to self-educate to provide engineering judgments.
