Introduction (1):
An engineering internship in ST will provide you with an unforgettable experience in a dynamic and international environment. Our internships serve to be an educational experience, where you will put your skills and bias for action to the test, to complete a project that will support your own learning in the engineering field.
Join ST for an engaging internship project focusing on designing a dedicated fixture with an emulation of a power module to characterize various cooler systems. This project presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the advancement of semiconductor testing methodologies, including comparing testing results with simulations.
Project Overview:
The intern will lead the design of a specialized fixture that emulates the behavior of a power module for testing purposes. This fixture will be utilized to characterize and evaluate the thermal performance of different cooler systems, monitoring parameters such as thermal resistance (Rth) and pressure drop. A crucial aspect of the project will involve comparing the testing results obtained using the fixture with simulations to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the emulation setup.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop the fixture layout and components for power module emulation Be responsible for the assembly of the designed fixture, ensuring proper integration of components Conduct experiments to validate the fixture's functionality and performance Integrate sensors and data acquisition systems for precise performance monitoring Compare the testing results obtained with the emulation setup to simulation data for analysis and validation
Introduction (2):
An engineering internship at ST offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and international environment. Embark on an exciting 6-month internship where you will play a key role in designing a specialized fixture for testing a power box that emulates real inverter stress conditions. This project provides hands-on experience in designing mechatronic systems, managing high voltage and current, integrating a cooler system for temperature conditioning, and incorporating probe-level monitoring for signal analysis
Project Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineering intern at ST, you will be responsible for designing a mechatronic fixture to test a power box consisting of a 3-phase power module, cooler, and gate driver board. The fixture will emulate real inverter stress conditions, managing high voltage and current, regulating coolant temperature, and monitoring critical signals to evaluate the power box's performance under demanding operational scenarios.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop a mechatronic fixture to test the power box under real inverter stress. Be responsible for the assembly of the designed fixture, ensuring proper integration of components Manage high voltage and current requirements within the fixture design. Integrate a cooler system to regulate the coolant temperature of the device under test. Incorporate probe-level monitoring for analyzing relevant signals during testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the compatibility and functionality of the fixture.
Requirements:
Recent graduate or undergraduate in mechanical engineering or related field Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design and modeling Knowledge of thermal management systems and power module characteristics Ability to analyze and interpret testing data for comparison with simulation results. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Benefits:
Gain hands-on experience in designing and testing innovative semiconductor testing solutions Collaborate with experienced engineers to bridge the gap between testing and simulation data Enhance skills in data analysis and validation within a real-world engineering environment
