Mechanical Design Intern

Mechanical Design Intern will carry out a traineeship within the Mechanical Design Area.
Analysis of modal frequencies of a laser cutting machine and related stresses on foundation plates The purpose of the study is to analyze the modal frequencies of the lasertube system to highlight which ones may be superimposable on those proper to the process.
The analysis should also be extended to assess the stresses that the process generates on the foundation plates.
The student will have to evaluate how to set up modal analysis on the main structures of the Lasertube machine by assessing how to generate the simplified model to be analyzed by finite element software (FEM).
He/she will also have to evaluate which of these frequencies amplify the forcings generated by the process and are therefore to be avoided.
As a final analysis, it is required to evaluate the load and stresses acting on the machine's attachment feet to the foundation plates.
Topics explored during the internship alongside experienced colleagues: Simplification and general machinery assembly modeling;Modal frequency analysis using FEA / FEM software (Ansys Workbench);Evaluation of critical frequencies as a function of process-driven forcings;Forces and loads analysis on foundation plates using FEA / FEM software (Ansys Workbench).Note: The trainee will be expected to work within the workplace with the utmost respect for the rules established to ensure Safety and Health, their own and others', and to ensure optimal functioning of the work environment.
Requirements Master's degree in Mechatronics Eng.
or similar field in progress;Good knowledge of mechanical engineering drawing;Advanced knowledge of finite element analysis software (preferred: Ansys Workbench);Knowledge of English language (B2 level);
