Mechanical Design Engineer – Structural Design Engineering (from Entry-level to Expert) Be part of a growing and energetic Battery and Body Structures Engineering team to engineer, execute and deliver cutting-edge products to global customers. You will work with cross-functional team members to continuously innovate and launch new products for Europe and other growing markets.
Create and develop Body-in-White or Battery enclosure component and system requirements and specifications to achieve best-in-class system targets for function, cost, weight, investment, NVH, thermal, structural and crash performance 3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assemblies Optimize designs via analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments, (DFMEA, fault tree, decision matrices, etc.) Collaborate with teams inside and outside Tesla (manufacturing, test, NPI, supply chain, etc.) Support continuous product and process improvement and question industry standards (as well as our own) to continually raise the bar Mentor less experienced engineers through the design process Minimum Requirements: Education background in mechanical engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability Strong engineering fundamentals in materials and mechanics Strong experience in CAD modeling (experience in CATIA V5/3DX is a plus but not required) Hands-on experience in automotive design and engineering, knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes and lightweight, recyclable and sustainable materials, comparable fields apply as well Demonstrated ability to supervise a project from technical standpoint: from initial design to manufacturing Full design cycle experience in relevant field preferred Find joy from solving problems with design solutions #J-18808-Ljbffr
