We're looking for a Mechanical Application Engineer - High Density who will focus on the end-to-end Thermal Management solution design.
You'll join a unique Team within the Application Engineering, Thermal Management EMEA group that provides support to AE colleagues and Sales on customized projects and solutions.
Main duties Review RFQs and identify customer requirements/specificationsEvaluate the best trade-off solution according to customer needs, budget, efficiency and project timeframesDevelopment of technically and price competitive High Density Thermal Management solutions, including CDUs and application based TCL (technology cooling loop) design when a standard product doesn't fit.Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tendersCreate and review application based documentation (drawings, specifications, electrical layout, presentations) enabling AE colleagues and Sales to secure the businessIntegration, coordination and support the internal pre-sales, project management and/or external suppliersInteract with Engineering and Manufacturing when needed.Share ideas and detailed design proposals to Product Management and Engineering teams for product improvement/development by applying a continuous improvement mindset.Provide application based training to the EMEA AE community and Sales to strengthen the know-how across the Vertiv's group
Job Requirements – Qualifications and work experience School Background: engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experienceSolid professional experience within chilled water systems, matured within the Data Center industry or in adjacent marketsExcellent know-how of Data Center High Density trends, applications and related thermal management complexitiesExcellent know-how of Uptime Institute Tier levels and related Thermal Management infrastructure design.Excellent Mechanical Cad Software skills, preferably PTC CreoCore competencies High focus on customer needsOpen mindedExperience in quoting/proposing/managing projectsOrganized, self-motivated and proactiveAble to combine long term and short-term goals by setting priorities with high level directionsOrganizational skills and familiar with a decentralized environment but at the same time able to work in a teamAbility to interact with all levels within the organization from entry level to executiveBasic Skills Language skills: fluent English written and verbal requiredExcellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientationSkills with Simulink Simscape ElectricalNice to have Previous experience on High Density applicationsStrong interest in High Density applications and IT related components, like GPUs, CPUs and liquid cooled servers.Vertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
