New Web3 Learning Platform, Proof Of Learn, Initiates A New Approach To Accessible, High-Quality Education Across The GlobeFremont, CA: Proof of Learn, a new Web3 learning platform with a mission to unlock accessible high-quality education across the world through blockchain technology, has launched its first project Metacrafters - a learn-to-earn education platform. The Proof of Learn team presented the Metacrafters teaser trailer with an immersive experience at NFTLA.
This mission-driven team with a focus on accessibility and equality is bringing their global experience scaling Web2 solutions with a social impact to Web3 by developing Proof of Learn, a platform with a vision to make high-tech education accessible to people across the globe - and to provide employers with transparent access to students' skill sets. Proof of Learn is a learn-to-earn platform where students practice their newly acquired vocational skills as they progress. Furthermore, it encourages learning by rewarding students with cryptocurrency and NFTs for mastering new skills. Proof of Learn aims to increase massive open online course completion rates, which studies show range between 5-15 percent, by incentivizing completion with learn-to-earn economic rewards and giving students a strong network community.
Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Kevin Yang, and Lauren Tornow are the co-founders of Proof of Learn and Metacrafters. Marcelo founded and was the former CEO and Chairwoman of Care.com, the world's largest online marketplace for care, serving over 35 million people across 20 countries and growing at a rate of more than 100 percent year over year from its inception in 2006 until it went public in 2014, and then sold to IAC in 2020. Yang is a blockchain developer, Stanford Computer Science graduate, and technology entrepreneur who helped build and scale the Philippines' leading mobile fast-food delivery app. Tornow previously worked at Care.com, where she was in charge of marketing and international expansion; she was also in charge of marketing at Brainly, an online global learning community.
"Blockchain technology has already transformed the global industry, making its best-known impacts in finance, art, and real estate. This new tech remains largely untapped when it comes to innovating the way we learn and what we do with what we learn," stated Founder and CEO of Proof of Learn, Sheila Lirio Marcelo.
Proof of Learn's mission is to target students from emerging economies such as Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America - regions with tremendous potential and a need for Web3 education and job opportunities. On the employer side, Proof of Learn will provide companies with real-time access to information about students' credentials, with the goal of increasing transparency and overall meritocracy, as well as improving the efficiency of employment matching globally.
