Mathematics Professor

We are looking for a mathematics professor to conduct a course of 30-hour basic mathematics lessons for bachelor students at a business school in central Milan. The course involves delivering a total of 10 sessions, one per week, each lasting 3 hours, summing up to a total of 30 hours.

The lessons must be conducted in English and person/on-site.

All sessions are scheduled from the 30th of September 2024.

Course Description The course introduces students to basic mathematical rules and methods used in the business world. It covers linear and quadratic equations, inequalities and simple matrices, system of liner equations, exponential, and logarithmic functions. The special attention will be given to the mathematics of finance. The primary objective of the course is to help students develop analytical skills that will enable them to perform and critically evaluate business problems throughout their careers. The student examines the application of linear programming in business decision making. The course focuses on utilization of mathematical methods as applied to business problems and operations.

Course Objectives This course is designed to:

Describe basic mathematical rules and methods. Compute basic mathematical operations. Solve linear and quadratic equations and apply to a real-world business scenario. Apply the method of liner programming for business cases. Solve exponential equations made in business scenario. Calculate a simple and compounded interest rate for investment. Find the future value for different business cases. Apply mathematical methods for many different financial operations.
